Yesterday, Stint took the bait while Draco was out flying solo (attended at a distance). Recast Imperius, so, of course, D cannot make a sensible report himself. Appears otherwise unharmed. No attempt to abscond with or harm him physically.
LM arrived last night. Has been briefed and is in agreement. NM less than pleased, but consents.
Appears the imperius targets L's day book and portfolio of official materials. We've prepared the materials for delivery and are waiting for D to lead us to the drop. Will respond as circumstances warrant: will arrest if conspirators assemble or allow collection and proceed with extended snare if necessary.
Desai. Have just had an owl forwarding toxicology report from Melantha Sinistra. Pomfrey's samples show slow poisoning. Probably over several months. Safe to assume AS was correct to suspect an acute poisoning episode at the weekend.
Upgrade status: Stint should be assumed dangerous. Use lethal force if needed.
Whereabouts: last seen slightly before closing time last night. Horse and Hounds in Llanberis. LS-P reports he was there all evening, drinking heavily. Received two owls. (Recheck his rooms as soon as opportunity permits. Assume he'll have burned them, however.) Sent one. Showed no interest in any of the other patrons. Including S-P. Tried to lure him into conversation. Bought him a drink, but that caused him to leave abruptly. She followed but did not approach. Reports he returned to his lodgings at 12:12am. Turned watch over to Montague at 1.
