Have just finished meeting with members of St Mungo's Operations Oversight Committee. Two of them: Gregorius Pathe and Frances Oxley.

Registered their concern over circumstances of our transfering Dogstar prisoners to Hampstead incurables facility. Misliked the condition of the miscreants on arrival. Have filed an 'Ethics brief' with some newly established commission of theirs. Have named Truncheon, Brundage, and me as implicated parties, along with MLE generally.

I pointed out that the Irreversible Cruciatus ward was designed to admit exactly such cases. (As it says on the tin.) Asked if they questioned Our Lord's provision for law enforcement. Wouldn't be budged from their claim of authority to 'scrutinise and review' our procedures where there is 'overlap between institutions'.

Agreed that it is time for review of agreements and conduct. Informed them MLE has initiated review of St Mungo's handling of State prisoners, its responsiveness, cooperation, and conduct in carrying out its duties.

Was clear, by the way, that Healer Stint is the instigator, though he's put others out front. Overdue for scrutiny, that one.

The more I hear about this Healer Stint being a thorn in various sides, the more I wonder why he's been allowed to burrow in and fester. Pluck him out and obliterate him, if he offends. I'll do it myself, if it means I no longer have to endure reports of his various transgressions.

Or have we come so far from those days when we dealt with such matters in a way both precise and final?

Much as I agree in sentiment, Bella, it is not Stint himself who needs swatting, but whomever is pulling his strings. Razzer has shared a concern or two that leads me to believe Stint is merely the buzzing insect that conceals a more insidious noise.

More to the point, he has managed to gain himself vocal alliances in certain quarters. Acting so ... decisively ... may well leave us at a greater disadvantage. Even if keeping him in play requires excessive patience.

Understand both points. Am investigating his connections (at Court and beyond), but also have no intention of allowing him freedom to cause mischief.

Re: Raz, precious little that is concrete, apart from the intelligence that he has made inquiries into the CCF arrangements that are just on the edge of his brief.

Confirmed as much with Draco and Harry over supper. Came to the camping trip when he was not expected; asked Draco seemingly innocuous questions about our family holiday (specifically whether Harry would accompany us). Similarly made nuisance of himself in New London during the activities last week, cornered Harry and peppered with questions of only minimal relevance and with similar topic.

Having lunch with Glendower fils to-morrow; expect that shall prove elucidating.
